Kid Rock: A Detroit Icon

Kid Rock: A Detroit Icon

Kid Rock is an American pop culture icon that grew up in our backyard. He was born and raised in the small town of Romeo, Michigan. Kid Rock grew up on a farm, tending to horses and whatnot. His full name is Robert James Ritchie. After realizing small town life wasn't for him, Robert moved out and chased his dream of being a musician. He signed his first record deal at only 17 years old!

From that point on, his career took off. Kid Rock began in the rap industry. This was a thriving movement in the 1990's. However, at some point he shifted his musical talents towards rock. In fact, he combined both genres.

Kid Rock is responsible for hits such as "All Summer Long," and "Bawitdaba."

His song "All Summer Long," really symbolizes the Fourth of July holiday for a lot of Americans. Just remember, as in this story, if you put your mind to it, anything is possible!
