Wow, what a month it has been. As a team we’ve been eagerly working at our CrowdRise campaign for 29 days now, learning so much more than we ever imagined about our friends The All Veteran Group, Combat Injured Troops, and about our own team here at The Life Chest.
We’ve never felt stronger, more empowered or more driven by anything than we do with this campaign. Our mission is to provide an intimate place for veterans to store their most meaningful memories, awards and memorabilia, and to create a source for their personal healing and growth.
A Veteran is someone who has served in the military (US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) in times of war or peace. There are currently 21.8 million veterans of the U.S. armed forces as of 2014, according the Census Bureau. These men and women selflessly set aside their civilian lives to put on the uniform to serve us.
“The victims of PTSD often feel morally tainted by their experiences, unable to recover confidence in their own goodness, trapped in a sort of spiritual solitary confinement, looking back at the rest of the world from beyond the barrier of what happened." The Moral Injury, New York Times. Feb 17, 2015” ― David Brooks
While we can never truly repay the debt we owe our veterans for their brave service, we can help them ease the psychological grief and suffering they face everyday, a result of their bold sacrifice.
The gift of a Life Chest, though it may seem small, leaves a lasting impact and allows for our veterans to take solace in the moments they shared while serving our Country and sacrificing ultimately for our freedom.
All donations are used to give Freedom Life Chests to combat-injured troops through the All Veteran Group to complement their Therapy in the Air skydiving program.
The All Veteran Group (AVG), independently owned and operated, is comprised of dedicated individuals of both active/retired military and patriotic Americans.
“With AVG, we are changing directions and changing lives. We provide a blueprint to translate aspiration for change into action, and a new sense of freedom. Traditional values of teamwork, effort, accountability, trust and selflessness are the cornerstones of AVG’s Programs. ” – Founder Mike Elliot
Dear Mike Elliott - To say that I feel you and I have a very close relationship would be an understatement, on several levels. First, as a former Commander in Chief, I am so proud of all you have accomplished as a member of the elite U.S. Army Golden Knights. Your Service to the country we all love has been extraordinary - whether you were serving in theaters of war, or introducing legions of fans to the joy of parachuting. On a personal level, working with you has been one of the great joys of my life. You have been there for me so many times, and I can’t think of anyone with whom I would rather jump out of a perfectly good airplane. — Former President George H.W. Bush
Please Donate to our cause today and spread word of our campaign, every single share helps and every dollar donated contributes to fulfilling our mission.
