He was the best, and he made sure you knew it. Ali was born in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1942. He discovered his talent of boxing at a young age.
After his boxing debut, the world quickly learned how great of a fighter Muhammad Ali really was. He won a gold medal for the United States at the 1960 Olympic Games. He went on to become the heavyweight boxing champion of the world. Much to the approval of the public eye, Ali referred to himself as "The Greatest."
However, Muhammad Ali is not only known for his boxing achievements. After he retired, Ali became a philanthropist. He traveled to numerous countries all across the globe promoting the welfare of others. Muhammad Ali always wanted the best for people. In return, people always wanted the best for him.
On Friday, June 3, Muhammad Ali passed away. The world has lost a great leader, fighter, and most importantly, champion. Muhammad Ali's legacy will live on forever.
